Bird Watching: The Bahamas National Trust Ornithological Club stayed with us and noted over 50 different varieties of birds by just walking the island. So, bring your binoculars and camera to see these beautiful birds.
Bonefishing: You can experience great fishing on the flats in front of the inn. Our tide chart is available so you can check what time is best to hit the flats. Additionally, we can provide you with names of independent bonefishing guides who can take you out bonefishing for the day.
Hiking: There is an inland blue hole that you can get to on your own or with help from a local guide. Our guests have seen several different varieties of inland birds and even the elusive iguana. The terrain is quite rough, so you have to bring good walking/hiking shoes or sneakers, lightweight long pants, and lightweight long-sleeved shirts.
Snorkeling: There are patch reefs and blue holes just offshore that are great for snorkeling. You can swim or walk to some, while you can reach others by kayak. We can also connect you with someone who can take you out in a boat.
Our complimentary breakfast consisting of freshly baked breads, muffins, pastries, etc., as well as juice, coffee, and tea is served daily at 8:00 a.m. If you are scheduled to bonefish with a guide, the fishing day is from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Early breakfast will be provided at 7:15 a.m., and lunch can be packed and ready to go by 7:45 a.m.
As for lunch and dinner at our restaurant, we serve great food prepared to order. Our restaurant menu changes daily, so check with us to see what’s cooking for lunch and dinner. Please let us know at breakfast if you will be having lunch or dinner here. Lunch is served between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and dinner between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. There are also a few native restaurants and conch stands a short walk, bike ride, or taxi ride away that serve good Bahamian food.
Seascape Inn does not add a gratuity/service charge to your hotel or restaurant bill. Tipping is at your discretion and greatly appreciated.
The Bahamian dollar is on par with the US dollar. Seascape Inn accepts MasterCard, Visa, or cash (US or Bahamian dollars). At this time, no one else on the island accepts credit cards, and there are no ATMs here. If you are planning on dining out, bonefishing, etc., you will need cash. The only bank in Mangrove Cay is Bank of the Bahamas, and they can give cash advances on MasterCard and Visa. However, this branch does not cash traveler’s checks and the bank is open only two days per week, Monday and Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., excluding Bahamian holidays.
There are rental cars available on the island for $65 to $75 per day. However, credit cards are not accepted.
Each cabana accommodates a maximum of two people regardless of age. The cabanas have ceiling fans, private bath, and deck. Wi-Fi is free of charge for our hotel guests. This service is available from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. We have range extenders that will enable you to use the Wi-Fi in your cabana and a number of areas throughout the property. However, please note that the service does go down from time to time due to problems with the provider. The bar/restaurant area is an internet-, cell phone- and electronic device-free zone.
